Location: Must reside within 30-40 minute’s drive of Schaumburg, IL and be available for increased seasonal hours (January–April and late September–mid-October). ON-SITE 5 DAYS PER WEEK- Firm requirement

Role Description – Responsibilities & Essential Function

Position: Senior CPA – Client Advisory & Tax Services (Schaumburg, IL)

We’re seeking a dynamic, client-oriented professional with a passion for helping small and mid-sized businesses grow and thrive. If you enjoy building long-term relationships, leading complex tax engagements, and making an impact in your local community, we’d love to talk with you.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and review approximately 500–600 personal and corporate tax returns annually for small to mid-sized business clients.
• Partner directly with business owners on tax strategy, estate planning, mergers & acquisitions, and employment planning.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering proactive insights and tailored financial solutions.
• Represent the firm within local Chambers of Commerce and through active community involvement.
• Lead and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-minded environment.
• Work closely with clients across Illinois, Kansas, and Arkansas—bringing deep knowledge of multi-state tax regulations.

Skills

What We’re Looking For

• Licensed CPA (in good standing) with 10+ years of current, verifiable work experience in public accounting with either a Regional CPA firm or Smaller Private Practice.
• Expertise with Circuit or Intuit (QuickBooks Enterprise & Online) software.
• Strong leadership presence and exceptional interpersonal communication skills with teams.
• Must have the ability to work in office Monday – Friday and enjoy on-site engagement. Clients drop in to the office unscheduled throughout the year. No Hybrid or Remote option available because clients will be coming into the office; whole team works in office.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing environment—able to manage multiple ongoing engagements.
• Action-oriented professional committed to precision, client satisfaction, and ethical excellence.
• Must reside within 30-40 minutes drive of Schaumburg, IL and be available for increased seasonal hours (January–April and late September–mid-October)

Qualifications: Preferred Qualities

• Prior experience with regional or private accounting firm.
• Active participation or leadership on non-profit boards.
• A genuine “servant leader” approach with a passion for community involvement.

Must pass a standard background and drug screen.
