Role Type: Administrative Assistant 2

Hourly Pay: $ 28.50 Per Hour
Location: Downtown Birmingham, Alabama
Work Hours: Monday- Friday from 8am-5pm
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma; 3+ years of related experience
High-Level Tasks/Job Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support for the director of SCS Environment & Sustainability (E&S) and the E&S department
- Support Director including calendar management, expense report reconciliation, and travel management – flights, hotel, car service/rental, meals
- Perform various administrative duties to support the E&S team including departmental calendar and coordinating meetings and events, including catering, room set-up and breakdown
- Perform various administrative duties including procuring and maintaining office and breakroom supplies, coordinating office maintenance, oversight of PCs, laptops, copiers, printers, and other office equipment
- Manage purchase requests, process check requests, process and reconcile invoices
- Serve as department timekeeper using Oracle PaySOurce
- Reconcile expense reports using Oracle Expense
- Maintain department documents and participate in record retention efforts
- Ensure adherence to Southern Company administrative, accounting and compliance procedures
- Provide backup assistance to other administrative support personnel
- Perform ad hoc miscellaneous administrative assignments as directed
Job Experience needed:
- Experience in an administrative support role in an office environment (assistance to director and manager level preferred)
- Demonstrated strong personal computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, SharePoint and OneNote), also experience with accounting software/Oracle and Maximo preferred
- Proven interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required. College experience or degree desired

- Strong organizational and time management skills including the ability to prioritize, multi-task, perform activities from multiple personnel and meet deadlines required
- Ability to interact professionally with a variety of position levels and personalities (internal and external clients, management, peer administrative personnel and department employees)
